The opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Mining Engineer to support our client’s mining operations. You will provide expertise in mine engineering across design, project management, supervision, and operational input to ensure projects are delivered on time. This is a site-based contract work (Initial 3-6 months) on a FIFO basis, with accommodation and travel will be covered.
 
What the role entails 

• Provide technical mining engineering through mine planning activities, including the life of mine planning, mine design and optimisation while accounting for uncertainty and risk.
• Develop and validate an accurate mining model for the existing and planned operations for short-term, medium-term, and Life of Mine (LOM) plans.
• Offer cost-effective and purpose-driven mining strategies to support the mine plans and schedules
• Identify, engage and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate with other departments for resource and equipment efficiency
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

What you will need 

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or similar
• Proven experience in coal mining
• Proficient in mine design software (Deswik is desirable)
• Strong knowledge of mine safety regulations and best practices
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Proven ability to successfully develop working relationships across all levelsDetail orientation, strong planning, organisational, scheduling and coordination skills
